Saturday Morning Training

Saturday Morning Training Sessions have been running since 1999 when Gary Dove invited boys from the local Primary Schools down to Fort Road Recreation,Expecting about a dozen to turn up, Gary had arranged for a few dads that he knew who played cricket to come down and give him a hand. To his surprise and delight approximately 30 kids attended and so began the present structure as we know it.

Saturday Morning Training sessions now are all run by the Clubs coaches above [Top Row] Lee Poulton-Level Two, Nick Jacques-Level Two, Gary Dove-Level Two, Ian Horner-Level Two [Bottom Row] Harry Meale-Level One, Jack Godfrey-Level One, Daisy Bennett-Level One, George Burton-Durham-Level One, George Davies-Level One.

The club Now has on Average 40-50 children every Saturday Morning ageing from Under 11 to Under 14 as well as a few girls. After the session there is also sweets, Bacon and Sausage Sandwiches availiable cooked by Mums of Newhaven Club members.

Saturday Morning Training 9:15 - 10:30 running from April to the end of July, the cost of these sessions is only £3 per child, £1.50 for a bacon/sausage sandwich. All of the Saturday Morning Coaches/Cooks and Helpers are all volunteers so most of the procceds go directly to Newhaven Cricket Club.
